Angela demands talks on crisis in NHS after Hunt apology

hunt.jpgANGELA Rayner is demanding a face-to-face meeting with Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt to discuss the crisis in the NHS.

The move comes after she received a full apology from Mr Hunt, for failing to notify her of his recent visit to Tameside General Hospital.

Mr Hunt apologised for the 'mistake' and accepted that he should have notified the MP of his visit to her Ashton-under-Lyne constituency.

Angela said:" I am grateful for the belated apology about Mr Hunt's breach of the Ministerial Code of Conduct.

"But I have now asked Mr Hunt to meet with me face-to-face to discuss the many issues that my constituents are raising with me about the crisis in A&E, lengthening waiting lists for treatment and the lack of adequate social care in the community.

"I hope that after avoiding me when he was visiting my constituency, he will now have the good grace to meet me personally, so that I can raise these important issues directly with him."
