A CANCER charity which offers help and support to sufferers in Ashton-under-Lyne has been given full support by local MP, Angela Rayner.
Lavender Ribbon Cancer Support, based in Market Street, provides practical assistance and support to anyone affected by any type of cancer.
Recent figures found that 1:2 people are affected by cancer during their lifetime, whether recently diagnosed, undergoing treatment or following treatment.
Angela Rayner MP recently met staff and volunteers of the charity to show her support for their work locally in delivering evidence-based services, focussed on individual needs.
Angela said:” Lavender Ribbon are doing brilliant work in helping local people who have experienced cancer as well as providing nutritious, healthy food with the support of catering students from the local college.
“They are helping improve the quality of life for sufferers, reducing the late effects of cancer treatment and helping prevent any recurrence.
“I am delighted to support their pioneering work, which supports the efforts of clinicians and staff within our National Health Service.”
The charity specialises in evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies for cancer.
