LOCAL MP Angela Rayner was in the pink - to help raise money for good causes in Tameside.
She donned a fetching pink outfit as part of the Tameside 4 Good fundraising campaign, which was being celkebrated across the borough with 30 separate events.
But Angela was outdone by Ben Gilchrist, chief executive of organisers Communities and Voluntary Action Tameside, who wore a startling pink wig and matching tie to promote the event.
Angela said:"I thought I was making an effort for the good of Tameside, but it was nothing compared to Ben's effort, which certainly raised a few eyebrows!
"Good on him - its a fantastic initiative which will make a real difference to local people who need help and support."
Ben is also doing a sponsored canoeing into work – you can donate online here: https://mydonate.bt.com/events/paintedpink/285150 or just text TAME44 £5 to 70070 (you can change £5 to £any amount of course!).
