Angela Rayner MP is demanding that the Government keeps its promise to fund 30 hours free childcare every week for every parent in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Hundreds of nurseries are at risk of closure across the country as a result of the Government’s failure to properly fund nurseries.
The Government’s new Early Years Funding formula leaves over one quarter of local councils facing cuts and many others unable to meet rising costs.
The Tory pledge to give every parent 30 hours free childcare a week is yet another broken promise, says Angela.
Angela Rayner MP said: “The Government has broken its promise to offer 30 hours free childcare per week to millions of parents all over the country.
"Their funding formula will leave our vital Early Years institutions facing closure or caring for less children.
"Providing quality childcare is vital for working parents and vital for the health of our economy. The Government must do another U-turn and guarantee the necessary funding to keep their 30 hours promise.
